A pool
competition during the one season of Super League in which each of
the Australasian Super League teams played 3 teams from the European Super League in a
home and away format. The Super League season had two windows in
which the premiership was suspended - Penrith travelled to the UK in
June for their 3 away matches, and then in July and August hosted their 3
return matches for three consecutive weeks at home.

Penrith was
placed in Australasian Pool A, containing six teams alongside five
other Australasian Super League teams, with each of these teams
drawn to play three of the six teams from the European Super League
teams who were placed in European Pool A - the Panthers were drawn
to play Bradford, St. Helens and Warrington.

Each of the two
Pool A groups had separate tables, with the top three teams from
each of the Australasian and European Pools reaching the qualifying
finals. Despite winning all six matches across both stages, Penrith
finished fourth, with a points differential 40 points less than
third placed Cronulla. |
